Product Description
The aroma of flower tea comes from the fragrant essential oil and volatile flavor substances stored in the petals and bracts. Many processors found that after microwave drying and sterilization, scented tea smells more prominent than raw materials. This is not the addition of essence, but the special effect of microwave processing.
Fresh or semi dried flower tea has aromatic substances mostly trapped in plant cells. The cell wall structure is complete and compact, and essential oils and aroma components are enveloped, making it difficult to fully release them. Traditional hot air drying relies on external hot air to slowly heat up, resulting in slow heating and long baking time. Many lightweight aromatic substances will slowly evaporate and be lost under long-term hot air blowing, and the finished product aroma is prone to fading.
Microwave is a penetrating internal heating method, and energy can be directly applied to the interior of flower tea materials. The water in the cell is rapidly heated and vaporized under the action of microwaves, forming a certain pressure inside the cell and breaking through the originally tight cell wall. The fragrant essential oil and flavor substances originally sealed in the cell can be released, and the fragrance we smell will become obvious naturally.
At the same time, microwave processing heats up quickly, has a short processing cycle, and the material stays in a high-temperature environment for a very short period of time. Compared to long-term hot air baking, it can reduce the excessive loss of precious and volatile floral components, and better preserve the flavor in flower tea.
While drying and dehydrating, microwave can also simultaneously complete sterilization, insect egg killing, inhibit mold growth, and ensure the safety of flower tea storage. As long as the appropriate power and speed are controlled, the temperature will not be too high, and the floral fragrance will not be burnt or burnt.
Of course, this effect requires process control. If the power is too high and the heating is excessive, the essential oil will evaporate too much, which will actually weaken the aroma and even cause a burnt taste. By adjusting the parameters reasonably, microwave can dry and sterilize while releasing endogenous floral fragrance, making the floral fragrance full and long-lasting.
